How often do you change the exhaust valve kit? Aquascooter says that you should change it once a year.

The guy that introduced me to an Aquascooter earlier this summer got his in the mid-90s. He said not to bother changing the exhaust valve saying they leak regardless and just rev the engine out of the water to before shutting down. Before hearing this I had already replace the valve in my eBay find 600. I didn't change the valve on the 450 I revived that has been dormant for 30 years. It works fine with the old valve. I suppose it depends a lot on how it's being used. I'm full throttle most of the time and don't leave it in the water when not using.

I am on my second season after replacing the exhaust valves in 3 of my AS600's. So far so good!

Dave

As you had 1290SD as well. would you say with new exhaust and no butterfly valve the engine behavior is comparable? is your GT now as mental as SD?
